Retired Marine. Entrepreneur. Author. 35 years building leaders and organizations that last.
Major William J. Redenius, USMC (Ret.) is a retired United States Marine Officer with 21 years of active service, a Chick-fil-A Owner/Operator with two locations in the Oklahoma City metro, and the author of The Builder's Code, a leadership framework for entrepreneurs who build people, not just businesses. He served as a Reserve Police Officer in Midwest City, Oklahoma for nine years. A Distinguished Marksman and certified systems engineer, Bill brings rare depth to the subject of leadership: earned across three decades of commanding Marines, developing franchise teams, and building lasting organizations from the ground up. He lives and works in Midwest City.
Bill Redenius began his career as an enlisted Marine, serving as an infantry rifleman (MOS 0311) before earning a commission through the Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program, one of the most selective officer pathways in the Corps. He was commissioned in 1994 and served as a Logistics Officer across assignments that included Okinawa, Japan and multiple CONUS installations, ultimately retiring at the rank of Major after 21 years of service.
During his career he completed The Basic School, the Logistics Officer Course, and advanced acquisition training at the Naval Postgraduate School. He earned his Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification during his service and worked as an engineer on the Global Transportation Network at USTRANSCOM, blending operational leadership with technical depth in ways that would shape his approach to systems and infrastructure for the rest of his career.
Following retirement from the Marine Corps, Bill served as a Reserve Police Officer with the Midwest City Police Department for nine years. He completed the Oklahoma CLEET Reserve Academy, a 240-hour certification program, and qualified as a certified Police Motorcycle Operator. He is an Advanced Combat Pistol-trained marksman, having completed multiple courses under nationally recognized instructors.
Bill became a Chick-fil-A Owner/Operator in the Oklahoma City metro, where he currently operates two locations in Midwest City, Oklahoma under Red Okie, LLC: the 15th and Sooner location and the 29th and Town Center location. He applies the same leadership frameworks he used in uniform to develop directors, build team culture, and create operational systems that run with consistency and accountability.
He approaches the Chick-fil-A business the way he approached command: the work is not running a restaurant. It is developing people who can lead one without you.
Bill is the author of The Builder's Code, a leadership framework for hard-working entrepreneurs who are done with leadership theory and ready to build something that lasts. The book draws entirely from lived experience: 21 years in the Marine Corps, 18 years in franchise operations, and a career spent developing leaders across both. It is written for builders: people willing to accept responsibility without being asked, raise standards instead of lowering expectations, and create something that outlasts their direct involvement.
Bill lives in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He is a husband, a father, a grandfather, and a man of faith. He holds that personal life and professional life are not separate categories. A leader who cannot run his personal life well has no business telling others how to lead.

I did not set out to become a leadership author. I set out to be worth following. The book is just what happened when I started writing down what that actually required.
— Major William J. Redenius, USMC (Ret.)Everything in the book has been earned. Not borrowed from another framework, not theorized from an office. Lived, tested, and refined over 35 years of leading people who had no margin for error.
